LARGO - Pinellas sheriff's officials have identified two men found shot to death in their rented duplex last week as an uncle and his nephew, both of Mexico.

The duplex landlord found the bodies of Israel Acosta-Rodriguez, 60, and his nephew, Francisco Shavez-Rodriguez, 38, on Friday after a neighbor complained about a foul odor. The landlord found the men dead in a bedroom of the duplex at 15454 Verona Ave. Investigators believe they had been dead about a week.

Detectives learned the men had a roommate, whom they tracked down in Hillsborough County on Tuesday. Sheriff's officials said Jose Sevallos Flores, 29, admitted killing the men after an argument. Detectives said they later found a gun, believed to be the weapon used in the shooting, in a residence where Flores was staying in Fort Myers. Flores is being held on two counts of murder in Hillsborough County awaiting extradition to the Pinellas County Jail.
