TAMPA - Five out-of-town candidates for the dean's job at the University of South Florida's College of Medicine begin arriving for interviews today and will be here through next week.

Dr. Robert Belsole, interim dean and interim vice president of the health sciences center, also is a candidate.

The outside candidates are: Dr. Valerie Marie Parisi, chairwoman, obstetrics and gynecology department, University of North Carolina; Dr. Glenn Craig Davis, dean, College of Human Medicine, Michigan State University; Dr. Neal H. Cohen, vice dean of academic affairs, University of California-San Francisco; Dr. Stephen H. Klasko, dean of Drexel University College of Medicine; and Dr. John B. O'Connell, chairman, internal medicine department, Wayne State University and physician in chief, Detroit Medical Center.

An advisory committee is expected to choose three finalists. USF president Judy Genshaft will then make the final decision.
