Also in theaters: Keeping it in the family

Summer movie preview

How many Wayans brothers does it take to make a movie? Three. One to direct the film while his younger relatives wear Caucasian makeup and drag costumes, in White Chicks (PG-13), which opened nationwide Wednesday. Keenan Ivory Wayans (Scary Movie) probably pulled rank on Shawn and Marlon as a measure of enduring sibling superiority; comedy hand-me-downs, if you will.

White Chicks stars Shawn and Marlon Wayans as FBI agents Kevin and Marcus Copeland, who are one blown assignment away from being fired. That chance comes when two young, spoiled socialites - any resemblance to the Hilton sisters is purely intentional - are targeted by kidnappers. Kevin and Marcus go deep, deep undercover, donning blond wigs, impressive makeup and high fashion to impersonate the women and lure the kidnappers into a trap. If only it were as simple as it sounds. Then again, this wouldn't be a comedy, would it?

A review of White Chicks was published Wednesday on Page 2B, where it received a XX grade.
