SEMINOLE - A new Toastmasters Club will meet 6-7 p.m. Tuesdays at the Seminole Community Library, 9200 113th St. N.
The club is open to the Seminole community. Both beginning speakers and experienced professionals are invited to attend.
The Toastmasters program helps build speech-giving skills through its communication and leadership program, as well as providing practice in impromptu speaking.
"Your presentations will improve, you will perform more effectively in meetings, your interviewing skills will be sharpened, and your self-confidence will increase," said Jan Ballantine, a speech professor at the college.

City residents can celebrate the Fourth of July one day early Saturday. The city is sponsoring a day of fun, music, games and food from noon until 9 p.m.
The first Red, White & Blues is at Seminole City Park, 7464 Ridge Rd.
Blues bands will provide entertainment throughout the day. A performance by the Seminole High School Band is also planned. A fish fry is planned to raise money for the band's trip to the 2005 Rose Bowl Parade. Children's activities include arts and crafts, bounce houses and clowns.

The Seminole Recreation Department will sponsor a trip for seniors to Sunken Gardens from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on July 14. Activities include lunch at the Pier, music, museum and shops. Cost is $22 with a Seminole Recreation card. To register, call 391-8345.
The Seminole Junior Warhawks, a softball club of 14 girls ages 9-14, is the first Florida softball club invited to play in the Dizzy Dean World Series bat/ball championship, head coach Kim Grawcock said.
The national tournament is July 23-30 in South Haven, Miss., and will feature both baseball and softball games on 17 fields.
The team has raised more than $3,000 of the trip's $16,000 cost (charter bus, motel, meals, uniforms and entry fee).
