Back to School 2004

A place to be after school

By Times Staff Writer
Published August 1, 2004

Finding good before- and after-school care can be somewhat of a dilemma for working parents.

Some might find the answer in PLACE (Pasco Learning and Activity Centers of Enrichment), offered at elementary schools throughout the county. Others might find a solution in the wide range of day care centers and local YMCAs that hold their own programs and often offer transportation to and from the school.

Information on local before and after-school programs is usually available at the school on registration day. Parents should still thoroughly investigate these centers with due diligence to be sure they meet the needs of their children.
