Some 35,000 customers line up each day in cafeterias throughout the county to take advantage of the school meal program at Pasco schools. That includes students, teachers and guardians, and parents, who, on occasion, make a lunch date with their children. (Note to parents: National Lunch Week will be celebrated the week of Oct. 11. It's a good time to visit as the Food and Nutrition staff often rolls out the red carpet and offers a variety of fun and educational activities.)
