USF concert: Local groups will band together for Saturday's Loud Music, Low Prices Show at the University of South Florida Sun Dome. The five rock bands taking the stage are the Beauvilles, Auditorium, Code Sunshine, The Semis and As You Wish. The event, presented by the Southeast Music Alliance, is designed to give more exposure to the local music scene. The concert starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5, and parking is free.
Wednesday, visit the Sun Dome for the And 1 Mix Tape Tour. The event features talented playground basketball players including Professor, Hot Sauce, Main Event, Half Man, Alimoe, AO and Prime Objective, as well as local basketball players competing for endorsement deals. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $50, $30, $25, $20 and $15 plus service charge.

Skipper's music: Delta Moon's new CD Goin' Down South is out, and the band is in town. The Atlanta band will perform at a CD release concert tonight at Skipper's Smokehouse. Delta Moon plays roots, classic country and blues music with slide and lap and bass guitars, keyboards and drums. The band, which performs a mix of cover songs and original music, won the 2003 International Blues Challenge in Memphis. Skipper's offers a full menu of Caribbean, Florida and Louisiana style food including black bean gator chili, alligator ribs, fried gator tail, farm-raised catfish, grouper, oysters, clams and shrimp.
The CD release show starts at 8 p.m. at Skipper's, 910 Skipper Road. Tickets are $10 at the door. Call (813) 971-0666.
Ice cream social: Get the scoop at Kid City, the Children's Museum of Tampa. Sunday, kids and families can attend the museum's ice cream social and sample flavors from Old Meeting House ice cream, vote on favorites and take an ice cream personality test. Guests can also tune into music from dixieland swing band the Treble Clefs and participate in arts and crafts, races and a Hula Hoop contest. Kid City exhibits include a fire house, bank, grocery store, library, hospital, post office, fast food restaurant, telecommunications center, safety station and an international travel agency.
The ice cream social is from 1-4 p.m. at the museum, 7550 N Boulevard. Admission is $2 for members and $7 for nonmembers. Other refreshments will be sold. Call (813) 935-8441.
