PHILADELPHIA - Eagles running back Correll Buckhalter probably will miss the season after tearing the patella tendon in his right knee in the first quarter of Philadelphia's 26-17 victory over Baltimore on Friday night.
Buckhalter collapsed, writhing in pain after a 2-yard gain, his only run. He left the field on a cart and X-rays revealed the torn ACL.
"I'm 99 percent sure he's going to have surgery and be done," coach Andy Reid said.
Buckhalter, expected to play a big role, will have an MRI today.
Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens connected on an 81-yard touchdown pass on Philadelphia's first play, and former USF standout J.R. Reed returned a kickoff 88 yards for a score.
FALCONS 27, VIKINGS 24: Michael Vick's backup Matt Schaub threw three touchdowns and completed 16-of-19 passes for 205 yards and no interceptions. Daunte Culpepper and Gus Frerotte each had long TD tosses for the visiting Vikings, who had leads of 17-0 and 24-13.
