MIAMI - A 49-year-old construction worker was killed and another injured Wednesday when a wall collapsed at a construction site, fire officials said.

Eight workers were pouring concrete into walls in a house when an outside wall collapsed, said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokesman Lt. Louie Fernandez.

Fernandez said the workers were trapped by falling debris. Identities of the victims and company information were not immediately available.

Last month in Martin County, two construction workers were killed when a three-story building collapsed as they also poured concrete. The concrete company was fined $2.4-million this week for failing to buy workers compensation insurance for its employees.
