Heather Fiorentino: Republican, Pasco school superintendent
Heather Fiorentino understands that our children are our future. As superintendent she'll provide our teachers with the support and resources they need to ensure that every child receives a quality education.
Heather Fiorentino knows that more money isn't always the answer. However, she fought for education funding and because of her efforts Pasco received record increases. This year alone, due to her hard work, Pasco received an additional $28-million.
Additionally, Heather has been a strong advocate for Pasco's families. She fought the big phone companies when they wanted to double our phone rates and took on Pasco's water and sewer companies on behalf of her constituents. Heather also worked to bring back the no-sales-tax holiday and the reduction of taxes on Florida's gasoline.
The time has come for new leadership in Pasco County schools. As a former City Council member, a leader in the Legislature, and 20-year teacher; Heather Fiorentino has the versatile experience that is necessary to effectively manage the multifaceted school system. The position of superintendent is that of a facilitator, requiring a strong leader who possesses diverse knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of the many aspects involved with educating our children.
Gov. Jeb Bush has endorsed Heather Fiorentino as the most qualified candidate because he knows she embodies the qualities that will bring the positive change we need. As Pasco's next superintendent of schools, Heather Fiorentino will prioritize the needs of our children while using our tax dollars in the most fiscally responsible manner.
