OVERVIEW: Nine campuses cater to students seeking specific vocational training under the umbrella of the school district's Office of Workforce Development. Health sciences, industry, business, technology and family and consumer services are among the broad categories of programs offered.
OPTIONS: High school students can attend vocational education schools as dual enrollees while taking regular high school courses. Or they can attend day or night classes exclusively at the vocational education sites. Additionally, preparatory courses to obtain a state of Florida high school diploma after passing the General Educational Development test are available at every center except Seminole Vocational Education Center, which serves only students who are still in high school.
SITES: Students can take classes at any of the following locations: Clearwater Adult Education Center, 540 S Hercules Ave., Clearwater; Dixie Hollins Adult Education Center, 4940 62nd St. N, St. Petersburg; Lakewood Community School, 1400 54th Ave. S, St. Petersburg; Northeast Community School, 1717 54th Ave. N, St. Petersburg; Palm Harbor Community School, 1900 Omaha St., Palm Harbor; Pinellas Technical Education Center-Clearwater, 6100 154th Ave. N; Pinellas Technical Education Center-St. Petersburg, 901 34th St. S; Seminole Vocational Education Center, 12611 86th Ave. N; and Tomlinson Adult Learning Center, 296 Mirror Lake Drive N, St. Petersburg.
