ACCOUNTING

Joanne M. Freeman has been promoted to accounting manager for Bollenback & Forret PA, Certified Public Accountants and Consultants, Clearwater. Freeman was accounting supervisor.

ARCHITECTURE

Gresham, Smith and Partners, Tampa, announced these appointments: Nancy Tatom, senior interior designer for the health care interiors studio; Christopher Davis, a project coordinator; Martin Solar, intern architect; and Ray Wong, senior intern architect. Tatom was a senior interior designer for 2H Design in Charlotte, N.C.; Davis was a senior associate for Gould Evans Associates Architects, Tampa; Solar was a project manager in construction services for George G. Solar & Co., Tampa; and Wong was a project manager for Hartmann Architecture, Tampa.

BANKING

Oscar J. Horton has been named to the board of directors of the Bank of Tampa and the Tampa Bay Banking Co. Horton is president and owner of Sun State International Trucks LLC, Tampa.

Peggy R. Carpenter has been named vice president and manager of First Community Bank of America's mid county office in Pinellas Park. Carpenter was vice president/senior financial specialist for Wachovia Bank, Seminole.

CONSTRUCTION

Ida Rood has been promoted to director of leasing for the Florida region for Crescent Resources LLC, Tampa. Rood was director of leasing for Orlando.

DIRECT MARKETING

Anne Sullivan has been named director of client services for Genesis Direct Inc., Oldsmar. Sullivan was an Internet production manager for the St. Petersburg Times, St. Petersburg.

EDUCATION

The International Academy of Design and Technology, Tampa, announced these appointments: Thomas M. Dobson, vice president of student services; and Sunny Sharma, vice president of the finance department. Dobson was director of career services for Florida Metropolitan University, Jacksonville; Sharma was controller for Career Education Corp., IADT's parent company in Toronto.

FINANCIAL

Helen S. Rimensnyder has been named investment associate and a member of the investment committee for Spencer International Advisors Inc., Clearwater. Rimensnyder was vice president and branch manager at Premier Community Bank of Florida, Largo.

INSURANCE

Bankers Financial Corp., St. Petersburg, announced these promotions: Brian Keefer, to executive vice president and chief operating officer; and Barry Gates, to senior vice president and chief underwriting officer for Bankers' property and casualty companies. Keefer was vice president of special projects; Gates was vice president and chief underwriting officer.

LEGAL

Josh Magidson has been reappointed by Gov. Jeb Bush to serve as commissioner to the Sixth Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Committee. Magidson is a shareholder and practices in the areas of bankruptcy and civil litigation with an emphasis in real property litigation, probate litigation and auto dealership law for Macfarlane Ferguson & McMullen, Clearwater.

MISCELLANEOUS

David Burns has been named a consultant for TekMethods LLC, Tampa. Burns was vice president of consulting for Micropath Inc., Bellevue, Wash.

NON PROFIT

American Stage, St. Petersburg, announced its board of trustees for 2004-05. Officers are: Beth Anne Brown, president; Mark Myers, vice president; Marshall Craig, treasurer; and Don Shea, secretary. Trustees are: Sonia Raymund, Lee Rightmyer, Wendi Stevens and Evan Whittle. Brown is president of BA Brown and Associates, a marketing and communications firm in Tampa; Myers is vice president of finance for Progress Energy, St. Petersburg; Craig owns American Hydro Systems, St. Petersburg; Shea is president and chief executive of the St. Petersburg Downtown Partnership; Raymund is founder of Soulful Arts Dance Studios, St. Petersburg; Rightmyer is a shareholder at the law firm of Carlton Fields, St. Petersburg; Stevens is an account executive for Stevens & Stevens Record Management, St. Petersburg; Whittle is first vice president of RBC Dain Rauscher, St. Petersburg.
