Five games to watch

1. Florida State at Miami, Monday. There aren't just national title implications in this rematch of the Jan. 1 Orange Bowl, which was a rematch of an October regular-season meeting. For those scoring at home, this will be the third meeting in 10 months. The winner, for the first time, takes a huge jump in the race for the ACC championship.
2. LSU at Georgia, Oct. 2. The best in the East vs. the best in the West of the SEC offers a possible preview of the league title game. One of these two might just survive and reach the Bowl Championship Series finale in the Orange Bowl.
3. Oklahoma vs. Texas (in Dallas), Oct. 9. One of these days, Texas coach Mack Brown will win a really, really big game and keep his team in the national championship hunt. This one will be played in Dallas.
4. Alabama at Tennessee, Oct. 23. The intense loathing in this rivalry has only gained steam since a contentious lawsuit was filed over NCAA violations at both schools. There has been talk that the game should be canceled this year to prevent any ugliness. That's from the fans in the stands, not the players on the field.
5. Michigan at Ohio State, Nov. 20. Big surprise. These two are at it again in the league finale (a schedule the Big Ten has followed since 1935) with the league title and possibly a berth in the Orange Bowl or the Rose at stake.
