CENTRAL FLORIDA AT WISCONSIN, NOON

Alex Haynes returns for his fourth season as the Golden Knights' starting running back and needs 630 yards to become the school's all-time leading rusher. Anthony Davis has returned to the Badgers having healed from nagging ankle injuries that limited his availability in 2003. In 2002, Davis broke Ron Dayne's school record for rushing yards by a sophomore. On defense, Wisconsin gave up more points per game than all but three teams in the Big Ten last season (Illinois, Indiana and Northwestern).

FLORIDA A&M AT ILLINOIS, 6 P.M.

Illini quarterback Jon Beutjer returns for a sixth season coming off some injuries in 2003 in which he threw for 1,597 yards and 10 touchdowns. Illinois hasn't won a season opener since its Big Ten championship season of 2001. The Rattlers haven't beaten a Division I-A opponent since 1979, when they topped Miami 16-13. Ben Dougherty returns at quarterback after racking up 2,502 yards last season.

FLORIDA ATLANTIC AT HAWAII, 12:05 A.M.

The FAU offense is led by quarterback Jared Allen, who passed for 3,003 yards and 24 touchdowns in 2003 when the Owls finished fourth in Division I-AA. Making its debut in I-A, FAU has 20 returning starters. The Warriors led the WAC and ranked sixth nationally in total offense, averaging 488.1 yards in 2003. They have 10 starters back.
