Increasingly strong winds and rain continue to hit Citrus County this afternoon, causing significant property damage and power outages.

Law officers reported heavy damage to the Chevron service station at U.S. 41 S and Eden Drive in Inverness. Elsewhere in Inverness, a mobile home roof was blown off. There was no inside the structure at the time.

Meantime, residents in parts of Lecando, Floral City, Dunnellon, Crystal River and Inverness continue to be without electricity, and portions of the Highlands section of Inverness were without telephone service this afternoon.
