CONSTRUCTION

Jonathan Brown has been named superintendent of construction for the Central Florida Division of Taylor Woodrow, Tampa. Brown has been assigned to Grand Hampton at Bruce B. Downs Boulevard and County Line Road in New Tampa. Brown was a construction manager for Lennar Homes in Tampa.

Nick Martz has been promoted to vice president of construction for the Central Florida Division of U.S. Homes Corp., Clearwater. Martz was a community manager.

Keith E. Johnsen has been named a project manager for Ed Seifried Construction Inc., St. Petersburg. Johnsen was a construction engineer for Nextel in Columbus, Ohio.

FINANCE

Steven I. Shrago, certified financial planner, has opened a new branch office for Brookstreet Securities Corporation at 2201 Second St. N, St. Petersburg.

HEALTH CARE

Dr. Akshay Desai has been sworn in as a member of the President's Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Desai, who has a private practice in St. Petersburg, is founder is of the American Family and Geriatric Care, St. Petersburg, and is chief executive officer of Universal Health Care.

JSA Healthcare Corp., St. Petersburg, announces these new appointments and promotions. New appointments: Laverne Beth Gibson has been named a case manager for JSA Pasadena Primary Care Clinic, St. Petersburg; and Stacey Zukowski has been named case manager for JSA Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street Primary Care Clinic, St. Petersburg. Promotions: Diana Gossett has been promoted to administrator for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street Primary Care Clinic, St. Petersburg; Nancy Flores has been promoted to administrator for the Holiday Primary Care Clinic; and Harold Johnson has been promoted to affiliate provider representative, based from JSA's corporate headquarters in St. Petersburg. Gibson was a clinical research coordinator for Radiant Research, Pinellas Park; Zukowski was a staff nurse for Largo Medical Center; Gossett was an assistant administrator for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street Primary Care Clinic and the Palma Ceia Primary Care Clinic, Tampa; Flores was an assistant administrator for the New Port Richey Primary Care Clinic; and Johnson was a provider of finance administration coordinator, corporate headquarters, St. Petersburg.

Dr. Jorge M. Trujillo has been named corporate medical director for BayCare Corporate Health. Trujillo will maintain offices at St. Joseph's Hospital, Tampa, and St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Petersburg. Trujillo was medical director of the comprehensive occupational and clinical health department at Wellington Regional Medical Center, West Palm Beach.

INSURANCE

Bankers Insurance Group, St. Petersburg, announces these promotions: Barbara Peat has been promoted to senior vice president and chief marketing officer; and Teresa Heller has been promoted to senior vice president and chief administrative officer of the Banker's property and casualty companies. Peat was vice president of corporate marketing and communications; and Heller was vice president.

LEGAL

Bruce D. Lamb has been appointed by the Florida Supreme Court to serve as member of the Florida Bar's Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee. Lamb is partner and member of the health care and litigation practice groups for the Tampa law firm of Ruden McClosky.

MISCELLANEOUS

The board of directors of the Florida Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors Association, Tampa, has named Cheryl Harris manager of its statewide organization. Harris is president of Construction Resources Group Inc., St. Petersburg.

Marion Harris has been named business development manager for SSRCx LLC at its Tampa Bay area office at 3000 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd., Suite 211, Clearwater. Harris was regional mechanical, electrical and plumbing director for Hunt Construction Group, Tampa.

NONPROFIT

The Hillsborough Education Foundation has named Andrew M. Harris and Brian P. Keenan to its board of directors. Harris is vice president of GE Healthcare Financial Services for the Southeast U.S. market, Tampa; and Keenan is president and chief executive officer of the Tampa region of First National Bank of Florida, Tampa.
