Got a minute? Santiago Gramatica

How old were you when you first met Coach Leavitt?

He came down to recruit Martin to Kansas State, and I was 11 then. We met him in our house, and then my family actually moved to Kansas to be with Martin for a few months. I knew what a great coach he was, and I've always been a huge fan of his teams.

There was a time all three of you wore No. 7 jerseys. But Martin switched to No. 10 this fall, and before the Giants cut Bill, he was wearing No. 5 up there. What happened?

I've always had a personal attraction to the No. 7. But my whole family loves (soccer legend) Diego Maradona, and Martin had a chance to get his number and went for it. When Bill went to New York, the 7 was retired and Eli Manning had No. 10. So Bill said to Eli, "Hey, we need to talk about this number." I'm just kidding.

How has it helped you having those two to learn from?

They're both extremely positive influences on me. It's such an advantage to have them around. I talk to them four or five times a day. Martin and I eat breakfast together every morning. And he goes off to practice, and I go to school. But we're talking all the time.

I hear you're a regular at USF tennis events. What's the connection there?

Martin's fiance, Ashlee Callahan, is an assistant coach with the USF women's team, so we all go to matches and support the team. I go to USF events in almost every sport.
