EUGENE, Ore. - Matt LoVecchio threw for a touchdown and BenJarvus Green-Ellis ran for 91 yards and a score to lead Indiana to a 30-24 upset of Oregon on Saturday and its first 2-0 start since 1996.

The Hoosiers, 2-10 last season, opened with a 41-10 rout of Central Michigan.

Indiana had not defeated a ranked opponent on the road since Nov. 10, 2001, when it beat No. 23 Michigan State in East Lansing.

The Ducks broke a string of 21 nonconference victories at Autzen Stadium dating to Sept. 17, 1994, when they lost to Utah.

Oregon had 317 passing yards and outgained the Hoosiers 178 to 127 rushing but couldn't capitalize on Indiana's second-half mistakes.

Oregon got within 30-24 with 8:38 left on Dante Rosario's 7-yard catch from Kellen Clemens.

On the next series, Indiana punter Tyson Beattie, on fourth and 12, put his knee down while fielding a low snap for a loss of 14 yards. Oregon got the ball on the Indiana 44, but the drive stalled at the 18 and Jared Siegel's field-goal attempt went wide right.

Oregon had another chance when Robby Valenzuela recovered Ymar Washington's fumble on the Indiana 27, but a play later Clemens was intercepted by Herana-Daze Jones.

USC 49, COLO. ST. 0: LenDale White gained 123 yards on 14 carries and scored a career-high three touchdowns to lead the Trojans.

USC won its 22nd in 23 games and 11th straight, the second-longest active streak in Division I-A behind Boise State's 13.

The Trojans also won their 16th in a row at the Coliseum over nearly three years, their longest home winning streak since they won 19 straight from 1931-33.

CAL 41, NEW MEXICO ST. 14: J.J. Arrington ran for 177 yards and three touchdowns and Aaron Rodgers completed 20 of 26 passes for 260 yards and two scores for the Golden Bears. Chase Lyman had four receptions for 111 yards with a touchdown and a two-point conversion for California, which played its only home game at Memorial Stadium until it hosts UCLA on Oct. 16.

COLORADO 20, WASH. ST. 12: Lawrence Vickers recovered a blocked punt in the end zone, Joe Sanders returned an interception for a score and the visiting Buffaloes made a late goal-line stand for a second straight week. The Cougars gained 416 yards to 117 for Colorado but couldn't overcome a handful of special-teams blunders.
