HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital, 12440 Cortez Blvd., Spring Hill, will join other HealthSouth facilities nationwide Sunday through Sept. 26 in celebration of National Rehabilitation Week, which recognizes the positive effects of rehabilitation and applauds the accomplishments of people with disabilities.
HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital also recognizes and extends thanks to its staff, Dr. Christine Weot, its medical director, and Dr. Mohammad Joud, chief of staff.
National Rehabilitation Week will be highlighted by the first survivors celebration Sept. 21 and a community health fair Sept. 23. Other activities are scheduled for patients and the staff.

National Rehabilitation Week was established in 1976 to create awareness of people with disabilities and the effects of rehabilitation. In 1990, a presidential proclamation designated the third week of September as National Rehabilitation Week, which has grown to include more than 7,000 organizations.
HealthSouth is the only inpatient rehabilitation hospital on the Nature Coast specializing in the treatment of stroke, orthopedic, amputee, brain and spinal cord injuries and related conditions.
