LARGO - Police were searching Thursday for a man who robbed the Florida Central Credit Union, 1499 S Belcher Road.

The man stepped into the facility about 3:35 p.m. Thursday and waited in line. He approached a teller and handed over a note that said he had a gun, although no weapon was seen. The man was given an undisclosed amount of cash. He left the facility and may have climbed into a white or light gray Oldsmobile with other people inside.

No one was injured.

Police said the robber is a white man, 5 foot 8 to 5 foot 10 inches tall, with a medium build.

Witnesses said he is between 18 and 25 years old and has a light complexion and short, brown hair with sideburns. He was last seen wearing a black shirt that had the word "Mecca" printed across the chest. He also wore black pants, a black ball cap and sunglasses.

Anyone with information about the robbery can call Detective Randy Chaney at 586-7477.
