The Salvation Army is accepting nonperishable foods, bottled water and building or cleanup supplies to aid in the Hurricane Ivan cleanup efforts. Pick ups can be arranged for large amounts. For information, call (813)928-8242. Drop off hours are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at 1603 N Florida Ave.
SPCA, (727) 586-3591, ext. 134, 9099 130th Ave. N, Largo. Drop items off at the shelter from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Items needed include disposable rubber gloves, liquid hand soap, paper towels, garbage bags, canned cat and dog food, bleach, cat litter, boxes and scoopers, leashes, collars and harnesses, towels, bottled water, gauze, Betadine, Vaseline, Ace bandages, any other medical pet-related care items, duct tape (for splints and broken bones) animal crates and food bowls.
The Jerk Hut, a Jamaican restaurant with two locations in Tampa, will be sending clothes, building supplies and nonperishable food items to Hurricane Ivan victims in Jamaica. Donations can be dropped off between 10 a.m. and 9:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, at 1406 E Fowler Ave.; or, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday at the Jerk Hut's downtown location, 207 E Twiggs St. For information, call (813) 632-9551.
