PINELLAS PARK - Police officers here stopped contract negotiations long enough to switch unions.

Earlier this month, the rank and file officers voted to join their sergeants in having the Fraternal Order of Police represent them. Contract negotiations should resume next week after the change is finalized, said Tim Ingold, FOP president. Ingold said negotiations are likely to focus on increased wages for Pinellas Park's police and code officers.
