SALT LAKE CITY - Marty Johnson tied a school record with four rushing touchdowns as Utah beat Air Force 49-35 on Saturday. The Utes improved to 4-0 for the first time since 1994.

Down 14-0, Utah scored 35 consecutive points. Johnson, who had 72 yards on 21 carries, made it 14-7 with a 2-yard run. Then the Utes scored twice during the final three minutes of the first half.

Alex Smith hit Paris Warren in stride along the sideline for a 65-yard touchdown with 2:37 left. The Utes got the ball back at the Air Force 21 on the next play after Anthony Butler's fumble.

Smith ran 11 yards on a keeper then kept it again for the score.

Shaun Carney's 2-yard run got Air Force to within 35-28. But Carney fumbled at the Air Force 42 late in the third, and the Utes drove for a 2-yard touchdown by Johnson.

Johnson, who also scored on an 8-yard run, made it 49-28 with a 1-yard run with 3:40 left.

COLO. ST. 39, MONT. ST. 14: Justin Holland, who threw eight interceptions in the first three games, was 21-for-35 for 311 yards, two touchdowns and one interception for the host Rams.

Colorado State halfback Joel Dreessen made a one-handed catch for a 10-yard touchdown and 20-7 lead with 1:58 left in the first half. After a blocked punt, Holland hit David Anderson for a 12-yard touchdown and 27-7 halftime lead.

E. ILLINOIS 31, E. MICHIGAN 28: Senior Matt Schabert, a transfer from Wisconsin, threw two touchdowns for the visiting I-AA Panthers. Down 14-0 early, Eastern Illinois took a 24-14 lead in the third on Schabert's 70-yard pass to Ryan Voss.

OHIO 34, BUFFALO 0: Tyler Russ returned an interception 33 yards for a touchdown and Matt Muncy a fumble 98 yards for a score for the host Bobcats.

Win streak ends at 17

PHILADELPHIA - Marvin Burroughs and Terry Butler scored touchdowns and Villanova held on to beat Penn 16-13 and end its 17-game winning streak, the longest in Division I-AA. The Quakers' last loss also was to Villanova on Oct. 10, 2002.

Down 16-0 midway through the fourth, Pat McDermott hit Dan Castles with a 13-yard touchdown. Penn then moved 80 yards in three plays, capped by Castles' 29-yard catch, to make it 16-13. But the Wildcats recovered the onside kick.
