The Big Mac Attack Spanish mackerel tournament scheduled Saturday out of Billy's Stonecrab Restaurant in Tierra Verde was postponed because of Hurricane Jeanne.

At the captains meeting Friday, tournament director Billy Moore decided to reschedule the event, citing the National Weather Service and the National Hurricane Center tropical storm warnings for the Tampa Bay area.

Even though tropical storm-force winds weren't expected until Saturday evening, tournament anglers who had their vessels prepared for the storm didn't want to take them out to fish then scramble to prepare them again.

"Some even had their boats pulled out of the water in anticipation of Jeanne," Moore said.

The event moves to Dec. 4, with the captains meeting scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 3 at Billy's Stonecrab Loft Bar. Entry fee will be $107, with 100 percent payback.

"But this tournament will have a special award of $1,000 for the biggest Spanish mackerel caught besides the normal cash payout," Moore said.
