I thank you for the wonderful human interest story that was written about my wife, Robin Herstand. I was somewhat disappointed, however, by the way my quote and your use of my description could be misleading. Had the context of your interview with me been clear, readers would have known that my description of Robin as "single-minded and passionately opinionated" refers to her humanistic political views. As a social worker and an artist, humanity, the environment and freedom of thought are of the utmost importance to her. My statement, "If they are not on the same side as Robin, they're completely wrong" refers to her unwillingness to compromise if that compromise results in the suppression of freedom.
