Dr. David J. Smith Jr. has been named professor and director of the division of plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, Tampa. Smith was section head of plastic surgery at the University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor, Mich.

HNTB, Tampa, announces the acquisition of TEI Engineers and Planners, Tampa, and announces these appointments. David Jones, manager of the intelligent transportation systems department; and Tom Washburn, manager of the traffic engineering department. Jones and Washburn held similar positions for TEI.

Dr. Cecil Aird and Dr. Vladimir Alexander were recognized at the 59th Annual Workers Compensation Educational Conference with a Florida CHOICE Award for Worker's Compensation. Aird is founder and medical director of the Tampa Bay Hand Center, Tampa; and Alexander has a private practice, Alexander Orthopedic Associates in Largo.
