TAMPA - Authorities were searching Monday for a man they think tried to abduct a teenager as she waited at her school bus stop in northwest Hillsborough County, officials said.
According to reports, the 16-year-old was waiting for her bus at Laurel Dale Drive and N Lakeview Drive, just northeast of Gaither High School, when she noticed a man with a pocketknife approaching her. The girl screamed and ran into the street.
The man jumped into an older model Chevrolet Camaro or Pontiac Firebird that had a loud muffler, officials said. A jogger ran to the girl's aid. She was not injured.
