Military news

Navy Airman Jesse Woods Fowler, son of Mary M. Dias and Dennis G. Fowler, both of St. Petersburg, has graduated from boot camp at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill. He will continue his training at Pensacola Naval Air Station. He is a 2003 graduate of Boca Ciega High School.

Navy Seaman Apprentice Ulysses Burden III, son of Annette and Ulysses Burden of St. Petersburg, has completed basic training at Recruit Training Command at Great Lakes, Ill., and was promoted to his current rank. He is a 2004 graduate of Gibbs High School.

Army Spec. 4 Shawn Leitner, son of Larry and Patti Leitner of St. Petersburg, recently was promoted to his current rank. He is an Abrams tank mechanic stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas, with Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 34th Armor, 1st Infantry Division. He attended Northeast High School.

Navy Seaman Heather N. Chancey, daughter of Shelley A. and Kenneth Y. Chancey of Seminole, has completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Coast Guard Seaman Dionte S. Dapremont, son of Tanya D. Dapremont of St. Petersburg, has graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May, N.J. He is a 2002 graduate of Lakewood High School.
