Mango has its amenities, yet you can still plant a garden and raise a few chickens.

There are many reasons why I like living in Mango. The main reason is that many conveniences have come to our area. I like having an interstate close by with easy access. We can boast of a senior living facility, Williams Landing. They provide several options for the residents, from assisted living to their own apartments. They seem to have a world of their own, allowing for some independence.
We have many subdivisions going up around us, but we are lucky to own our own land. We can plant our own gardens, have a few chickens and pretend we are still in the country.
When I moved here so many years ago, Mango was a sleepy little town. Everyone knew each other and greeted each other or waved when you passed by their home. The schools and church were our social life. Now we have a hospital, walk-in clinic, and fast food restaurants everywhere. We even have a few sit-down restaurants, even though Seffner gets the credit for these nice things.
The only bad thing about Mango is when we get packages. If we are not at home, or have a post office box, we have to pick up our packages at the post offices in Seffner or on Hillsborough Avenue.
Mango is still a very nice place to live, and I do enjoy living here. My children know there's no place like home.
Mango gives you a sense of safety, as if you could walk all around Mango at midnight without worrying. If you were out late and felt uneasy, you know any of the residents would be there to help in any way.
We used to catch a Greyhound to go into town. We would catch the bus at Sheffield's Grocery or walk to U.S. 92. We would spend the days going to the theater to catch a movie or running errands. We've come a long way since then. I love the feel of a small town here in Mango, and I am not alone.
