President Bush and Sen. John Kerry will visit the Tampa Bay area next week as the campaign enters the final stretch.

Bush will arrive in Pinellas County late Monday and then spend the night in St. Pete Beach, the White House said.

On Tuesday morning, he will hold a rally in St. Petersburg at Progress Energy Park, formerly Al Lang Stadium. He will travel in his campaign bus to Pasco County for a rally in New Port Richey. The location was not announced.

No details were available about whether the events will be open to the public or how to obtain tickets. Details will be announced soon.

Mayor Rick Baker, one of the Pinellas County co-chairs for Bush's re-election campaign, said the visit illustrates the political importance of the Interstate 4 corridor.

"I don't think it's a coincidence that one of his first stops after his last debate is going to be here in St. Petersburg," he said.

After the Pasco event, Bush will hold a rally in the Villages, a retirement area near Ocala. He will then return to Washington.

Bush's visit to the bay area will wrap up several days of Florida events. On Saturday, he will hold rallies in Sunrise, West Palm Beach and Daytona Beach. On Monday, he will campaign in New Jersey and attend a dinner in Boca Raton before arriving in Pinellas.

Kerry is scheduled to be in Tampa on Monday as part of a five-day Florida campaign swing that will include John and Elizabeth Edwards, though details had not been set by Thursday.

The latest Kerry-Edwards Florida visit intentionally coincides with the start of early voting Monday.

Floridians can vote in person at designated election sites starting Monday.

North Carolina Sen. Edwards is set to campaign in Miami on Saturday and will attend church Sunday in Daytona before holding rallies in Gainesville and Tallahassee. He will campaign Monday in Fort Myers.

Kerry will attend an afternoon rally Sunday in Fort Lauderdale and on Monday hit West Palm Beach, Tampa and Orlando.

Elizabeth Edwards, whose parents live in Sarasota, is to arrive in Florida on Tuesday to campaign in Pensacola and Panama City, before hooking up with her daughter Cate for a Wednesday campaign event in Sarasota.
