WEEKI WACHEE - A peace coalition from Citrus, Hernando and Pasco counties will demonstrate against the Iraq war from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at U.S. 19 and State Road 50 in Hernando County.

Thirteen members of the Nature Coast Coalition on Peace and Justice protested last week, and additional protests are scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon the next two Saturdays - Oct. 23 and 30 - before Election Day.

The coalition emphasizes the need for an American exit strategy and a fixed date to pull American troops out of Iraq and replace them with a peacekeeping body from neutral and Islamic countries.

The coalition has staged more than two dozen demonstrations against the war in the past 22 months. The public is invited to join. Call (352) 686-9936 for information.
