Suspects fleeing bank robbery charged

By Times Staff Writer

Two suspects who were caught fleeing the scene of a bank robbery in Spring Hill Friday have been charged in connection with the crime.

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office said 28-year-old Tito Morell of Lutz faces charges of robbery, fleeing and eluding and resisting arrest with violence in connection with the hold-up of the Hernando County Bank west branch on Cortez Boulevard. Also arrested was Sara Louise Palmer, 52, who authorities think was Morell's accomplice. She has been charged with being a principle to the robbery. The two were arrested shortly after 3 p.m. following a high-speed chase that ended when the suspect's vehicle drove into a ditch at Mariner Boulevard. Authorities later learned that Morell is also considered a suspect in five Hillsborough County robberies. Detectives from Hillsborough as well as agents from the FBI are expected to interview the suspects. Both are being held in the Hernando County Jail.
