EGMONT KEY - A boater found a body floating a mile west of Egmont Key on Sunday morning, U.S. Coast Guard officials said.
Petty Officer Danielle DeMarino said Coast Guard crews recovered the body from the open water and turned it over to the medical examiner for identification. She did not release any other information.
Last Friday, Coast Guard crews searched for nine passengers of a catamaran that reportedly capsized shortly after midnight 5 miles west of Egmont Key.
Crews searched 3,072 square miles around the island, but suspended activities Saturday after they were unable to locate any wreckage. No boaters have been reported missing, Coast Guard officials said.
DeMarino said it is not known if the body recovered Sunday is connected to that incident.
White rhino born at Busch Gardens
TAMPA - An 85-pound white rhinoceros was born at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, the first such birth at the amusement park.
The female rhino was born to mother Mlelani and father Tombo, whom the park received from Kruger National Park in South Africa in 2001.
According to the International Rhino Foundation, which coordinated the movement of Mlelani and Tombo, there are slightly more than 11,000 white rhinos in the wild. Fewer than 160 are in zoos across North America.
Tuesday's birth brings the population of white and black rhinos at Busch Gardens to 11.
