The Tarpon Springs High School Outdoor Performance Ensemble , under the direction of Kevin Ford , earned top honors recently at the 28th annual Seminole Sound Spectacular in front of a crowd of over 8,000. The 120-member band has taken first place in the largest of four divisions at the regional event for the last 11 years. The Tarpon Springs ensemble was one of 28 bands, including both local and out-of-town bands, to appear in the Sound Spectacular held at Seminole High's Warhawk stadium.

"It was one of the strongest performances at this event in the band's history, even in a year when we were short on rehearsal time," said assistant band director Robert Barfield.
