Published October 20, 2004

Do you miss not going to games at Yankee Stadium?

When I lived in the state, I went to 25 games and they lost every one. I moved and they won the Series (in 1996). Since I moved out, they've won every game I've been to. I'm 14-0. Your favorite personal Yankees memory?

When my uncle, Billy Herman, got inducted into the Hall of Fame, I was what, 6 years old. I'm waiting with my father, my grandfather and my uncle. I'm like "Dad, when are we going?" He says we're waiting for Yogi. I didn't know who Yogi Berra was. I'm 6 years old, so I thought it was Yogi Bear. I'm getting cranked up. We're in the car, and I'm in the back with Yogi. I say, "Dad, where's Yogi the Bear?" and he's sitting next to me. I get upset and start crying because it's not Yogi Bear. Now, to sit next to Yogi Berra, I'd give my . . .

What Yankees player has given you the most grief this year?

Felix Heredia. Throw a strike, will you please?

So moving to the Big East, this is getting back to familiar territory for you. Did I hear you guys are now recruiting kids in New Jersey?

We're starting to recruit New Jersey. It only makes sense, since we're going to the Big East. In '85, I think Miami had seven kids starting from New Jersey. We have a presence up there now. Florida, obviously, is No. 1 for us, but we're going to show an interest up there.
