Hernando man to face charges in 4 bank holdups

TAMPA - The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has issued warrants for the arrest of a 28-year-old man who is jailed in Hernando County and suspected in four Hillsborough bank robberies between July and October.

According to Hillsborough sheriff's officials, Tito Morell will be charged with the robberies of a SouthTrust Bank in Sun City Center and a Bay Cities Bank in Lutz that was robbed three times.

Hernando County jail records show Morell was arrested Friday at County Line Road and Mariner Boulevard and charged with armed robbery, attempting to flee from authorities and resisting an officer with violence.

Morell has been arrested 11 times since 1993 on charges including burglary, vehicle theft and marijuana possession, according to Florida criminal records.
