PORT RICHEY - A 23-year-old man was arrested Thursday after two teenage girls accused him of molesting them in their sleep.
The first girl, 16, told a Pasco sheriff's detective that she awoke about 2 a.m. Thursday to find Michael Stephen Betancourt naked beside her and fondling her , a sheriff's report said. The girl said when Betancourt realized she was awake, he walked away and went over to a second girl, 15, who also had been sleeping. The second girl also said she awoke to find Betancourt fondling . Then, she said, he tried to climb on top of her.
The 15-year-old said she got up and told her mother, who called authorities. A detectivereported that Betancourt admitted to being naked in front of the girls. Betancourt, of 10638 Cymbid Drive, was being held in the county jail Friday in lieu of $50,000 bail. He faces two counts of sexual battery.
