FSU's Whitney Brummett finished tied for fourth at 218 for 54 holes, five strokes behind winner Monique Gesualdi of Furman. Tiffany Chudy (223, tied for 27th) led the Gators and Christina Jones (222, T18th) topped the Bulls. Florida International finished 17th and Miami tied for 18th.

Annus gives back medal
Hammer thrower Adrian Annus returned the gold medal he forfeited because of a doping violation at the Athens Games, but said he hopes to get it back after an appeal to the sports world's highest court. The Hungarian was disqualified for failing to take a post-Games drug test ordered by the IOC, which suspected samples he gave in Athens were manipulated.

Miller wins to begin
Bode Miller 's quest to become the first American in more than two decades to win the World Cup overall title got off to the perfect start with victory by more than a second in the season-opening giant slalom in Soelden, Austria.
SPEED SKATING: Olympic gold medalist Derek Parra and newcomer Maria Lamb won in West Allis, Wis., at the U.S. Long Track competition. Parra took the 5,000-meter race, the same event he won at the 2002 Salt Lake City Games, and Lamb, 18, won the 3,000.
