Pasco Beverage peels off 4 acres

By Times Staff
Published October 26, 2004

DADE CITY - Pasco Beverage, bracing for a shutdown by the end of the year, sold off another chunk of property this month, including the company's headquarters office building.

Cargill Juice North America paid $539,000 for slightly more than 4 acres, according to court records. It also means that all of Pasco Beverage's property west of the railroad tracks, with the exception of land it leases to the neighboring electric plant, has been sold, vice president Ben Reese said Monday.

Reese said Pasco Beverage still holds more than 100 acres of raw land east of the tracks, as well as an extensive collection of warehouse and canning plant property that is for sale.

Earlier this year, Cargill bought other storage tanks at the site from Pasco Beverage. This month's sale adds storage tank capacity and the office space.
