TALLAHASSEE - Junior Leon Washington , Florida State's leading rusher, separated his right shoulder Saturday and said Monday he will be out two weeks. But coach Bobby Bowden said that timetable might be "looking at it optimistically."
"I'm going to get more of the workload. But it's not like last year where everything was new to me," said sophomore Lorenzo Booker , who has 562 yards and three touchdowns while sharing carries with Washington. "I've been through everything pretty much. You'll miss the luxury of having both of us. I'll have to find the mental toughness when I do get tired, I'll just have to stick it out and finish."
Freshmen Lamar Lewis and Jamaal Edwards will back up Booker.
AWARD: For the second week in a row, sophomore linebacker Ernie Sims was named the ACC defensive player of the week. He had eight tackles and a sack.INJURY UPDATE: Bowden said receiver Chauncey Stovall (strained hamstring) and linebacker Marcello Church (chest contusion) are "very questionable" for Saturday against Maryland. But defensive end Eric Moore and nose guard Brodrick Bunkley should play despite sprained ankles.

USF: Normal routine kept
TAMPA - The optimism has faded a little at USF, but the practices will remain the same.
Even with Friday's 41-9 loss to Louisville, USF coach Jim Leavitt said he wants to keep the practice routine the same as usual.
"You get disappointed in losing," he said. "We just went out and worked. I thought the guys did a pretty good job."
USF is off until Nov.3 against UAB and needs the time off.
Injuries to guard Frank Davis (right ankle), running back Andre Hall (ankle), long snapper Justin Daniel (concussion) and others have time to heal with the off week. Leavitt declined to comment on any player's status.

UM: Linemen might return
CORAL GABLES - Mami defensive tackle Santonio Thomas and guard Tyler McMeans , hurt Saturday, might return this season after tests revealed their knee injuries won't require surgery. No timetable was given, though.
