CLEARWATER - Halloween is not just for kids. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, dogs can wear costumes and do tricks for treats at an open house marking the 40th anniversary of the Upper Suncoast Dog Training Club.

In addition to a costume contest for canines at 1 p.m., there will be a $20 microchip clinic from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and $5 nail trimmings. Breed rescue groups and the Pinellas County animal services officials will have adoptable pets on site. Clearwater police will give a police dog demonstration and other dogs will take part in agility and obedience demonstrations. A portion of the proceeds will benefit dog rescue groups.

The club is a nonprofit volunteer organization offering classes in obedience, agility, pet therapy and good canine behavior. The club is at 2101 Logan St. near the Long Center. For information and a schedule of events, call 727 449-8738 or visit the Web site at www.usdtc.org
