The annual Tampa Bay International Auto Show, staged by Motor Trend, is the ultimate showroom.

Sure, it offers a look at 2005 models from more than 40 manufacturers, but those will be on the street soon. The real pleasure of these exhibitions is getting a look at the concept cars, such as the Chevrolet SS, the harbingers of what may be hitting the assembly lines - or not - a few years from now.

Throw in a collection of exotic cars, celebrity rides and other specialty vehicles, and this is gearhead heaven.

The show runs from noon to 10 p.m. today and Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Tampa Convention Center, 333 S Franklin St., Tampa. $8 adults, $4 ages 62 and older, military, students and ages 7 to 12. Kids are free on Sunday. Toll-free 1-800-426-5630; or www.motortrendautoshows.com/tampa
