* Consumer Electronics Association (www.ce.org): The trade group offers a consumer guide.

* Consumer Reports (www.consumerreports.org): It has a free Holiday Giving Guide section that includes step-by-step guidance on buying a TV.

* Digital TV magazine (www.dtvmag.com): The magazine offers product guides, tutorials and other information.

* Digital World magazine (www.pcworld.com/digitalworld/): Under its TV section, the magazine offers tips on flat-screen and rear-projection TVs, among other information.
