Salvador Dali Museum, St. Petersburg - Through Jan. 31, "Dali and Mass Culture," a blockbuster exhibition of the artist's forays into filmmaking, advertising and design.

Florida International Museum, St. Petersburg - Through Dec. 31, "The World of Barbie," more than 200 examples of the curvaceous doll, beginning with the first one from 1959, along with other memorabilia.

Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg - Through Jan. 2, "Marvels of Maiolica: Renaissance Ceramics from the Corcoran Gallery," painted earthenware from 15th- and 16th-century Italy.

Tampa Museum of Art - Through Jan. 2, "TMA@25: The Collection," a survey of the museum's permanent holdings, including an elegant reinstallation of antiquities.

Gulf Coast Museum of Art, Largo - Through Dec. 26, "Demi y Arturo: Por el Amor y la Vida" and "William Schaaf: Equine Visions."

Tampa Gallery of Photographic Arts - Through Jan. 2, "Hugh Shurley - Cut and Embellish - A Life in Collage."

Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art, Tarpon Springs - Through Jan. 2, "Finding Freedom: Forty Years of Soviet and Russian Art."

John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, Sarasota - Through Jan. 9, "Surrealism and Modernism from the Collection of the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art," a stunning group of 20th century works by all the big names.
