UF Women

Published November 17, 2004

COACH: Carolyn Peck (28-30, third season; 85-41 overall).

LAST SEASON: 19-11, 8-6 (tied for fourth) in SEC; advanced to second round of NCAA Tournament.

NOTABLE: For the first time in four seasons, the Gators are without center Vanessa Hayden, a former All-American and last season's SEC defensive player of the year. Brooksville's Bernice Mosby, last season's SEC sixth woman of the year, is her likely replacement. Without Hayden, Peck expects to have a quicker, more agile team, particularly because the returning point post players can run the floor like guards. Peck's team includes experience as 8 of 11 players are juniors or seniors. The schedule includes two Final Four teams from last season, LSU and Tennessee.

TICKETS: Individual game tickets are $5 for reserved, $4 for adult general admission and $2 for youth. Season tickets are $56 reserved and $44 and $20 for adult and youth general admission. Tickets can be purchased at the UAA ticket office at (352) 375-4683, Ext. 6800 or at Gate 1 of the O'Connell Center an hour before tipoff.
