St. Pete Beach needs boat parade participants

The city of St. Pete Beach Recreation Division is seeking participants to be in the annual Holiday Lighted Boat Parade.
The parade will be held Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. Call Mary-Jo Golliner at 363-9244 for an application.
Tree lighting, concert kick off holiday season
SEMINOLE - Music, lights and, of course, the arrival of Santa Claus will kick off the holiday season in early December with a two-day celebration.
The annual Mayor's Tree Lighting and Holiday Concert featuring the Seminole High School band will start the weekend's activities from 7-9 p.m. Dec. 10. Festivities will include a holiday concert featuring the Seminole High School Singers and the annual mayor's tree lighting ceremony.
The annual Winterfest Holiday Festival will begin the next night. Activities will include holiday music, holiday story time, the arrival of Santa Claus, Santa's Village, holiday lights, hayrides, ice carving demonstrations, holiday crafts and "snow mountain." The fest will be from 5-9 p.m.
The events are free. Seminole Firefighters Local 2896 will sell food and drinks. All proceeds will go to help needy families.
Both celebrations will be at Seminole City Park, 7464 Ridge Road. For information, call Steve Malla, recreation program coordinator, at 391-8345.
Oldies concert includes classics, holiday favorites
PINELLAS PARK - Relive the golden age of rock 'n' roll at the Rockin' Under the Stars Oldies Concert, featuring classic music and doo-wop with a dollop of holiday favorites. The Oldies Car Show will feature classic and antique cars, street rods and trucks. Free event with the Holiday in the Park winter festival. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. The Friday concert will be from 6:30-11 p.m. at the England Brothers Bandshell, 5121 80th Ave. N. For concert information, contact Tim Caddell at 541-0721. Holiday in the Park has multiple themes
PINELLAS PARK - Celebrate the spirit of the season at Holiday in the Park sponsored by the Pinellas Park Citizen's Police Academy Alumni Association.
The family-oriented winter festival will have a Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa theme that will feature lights, hayrides, choral performances, photos with Santa and more.
The festival will run 6-10 p.m. Friday and noon to 10 p.m. Saturday at the England Brothers Bandshell, 5121 80th Ave. N. Interested crafters, vendors and sponsors can call Bev Waggoner at 541-0760, or Officer Jim Bupp at 541-0861.
Holiday Parade scheduled to stroll street on Dec. 11
PINELLAS PARK - Make tracks to the Holiday Parade featuring bands, floats, soldiers, dancers, horses and lots more.
This year's theme is All Aboard for the Holidays! The Dec. 11 parade will begin at 6 p.m. and run east on Park Boulevard from 58th Street to 43rd Street N.

Messiah-Sing-A-Long planned at Eckerd College
Come and enjoy the thrill of singing Handel's most beloved oratorio at Eckerd College's first Messiah-Sing-A-Long on Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Eckerd College's Griffin Chapel, 4200 54th Ave. S.
All are welcome as singers or listeners. This musical event is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted.
To assist individuals with reviewing or learning their parts, a vocal score and song learning CD is available for all parts.
