Woman lying in road is struck three times, killed

By Times Staff Writer

SEMINOLE - Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of a 47-year-old woman who was struck by three vehicles on Park Boulevard on Friday.

Sgt. Tim Goodman said the woman, Christine H. Clark, is thought to be a transient and has no local address. She was lying in the road near the entrance to the Burlington Coat Factory, 7351 Seminole Boulevard, at the time of the 6:40 p.m. incident, Goodman said. "Deputies don't know if she was intentionally lying in the road or was knocked down," Goodman said.

Deputies are searching for the drivers of a white pickup and a dark sports utility vehicle, who may have witnessed what caused Clark to lie down.

Authorities say Clark was struck by a 1995 Dodge Avenger driven by Jennifer Duffy, 23, of Largo, and a 2001 Hyundai Sonata driven by Theresa Trowsse, 20, of St. Petersburg.

The driver of a 2004 BMW, Tayllor Sembler, 16, of Pinellas Park, stopped before striking the woman, but her car hit the woman after being struck from behind by a 1991 Mercury Capris, driven by Aaron Schmorr, 17, of Largo. Goodman said none of the motorists face charges in connection with the death.
