BODY MUTILATION UPDATE: Nicollette Sheridan is getting a lot of laughs days, and not just for her role as man-devourer Edie Britt on Desperate Housewives.

Many people are hooting over Sheridan's claim that she has never had cosmetic surgery, a topic she brings up in a Web site video promoting a line of skin care products called NuGlow.

It doesn't take an expert to note that Sheridan's face has a manufactured look that not even TV's Bionic Woman was saddled with three decades ago. The operators of the Awful Plastic Surgery Web site offering "the good, bad, and ugly of celebrity plastic surgery" at www.awfulplasticsurgery.com) say that since Desperate Housewives debuted on ABC in September, they have gotten "horrified" e-mails from people wondering what Sheridan has done to her face since her Knots Landing days.

Their assessment: Definitely a facelift. Slimmer and longer nose. Possibly cheek implants.

But most likely not anything that can be credited to the "amazing benefits" of NuGlow, which, Sheridan says in the video, "washes away the appearance of years."

MAKE THEM AN OFFER THEY CAN'T REFUSE: The group that puts on the notoriously relaxed (meaning alcohol is openly served) Golden Globe Awards show has asked Mel Gibson and Michael Moore to present an award together at next month's ceremony, FoxNews.com says. If they decline, we suggest Jay-Z and R. Kelly as replacements. ... TV industry buzz is that Law & Order guru Dick Wolf is ready to dump Criminal Intent star Vincent D'Onofrio for Chris Noth , the original show's studly Detective Mike Logan, whom Wolf dumped in the mid 1990s when he thought Noth's salary was getting too big. This was before Noth went on to be Big in Sex and the City and had his salary category get even bigger. Wolf isn't commenting, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

REMEMBERING THE GOLDEN AGE OF TV: Remember Lisa Kudrow? She was on Friends. It was a big hit on NBC a long time ago. At least it was a long time ago in NBC's mind. Anyway, Kudrow is trying to get back on TV with an HBO series about her life: a one-time sitcom star trying to revive her career. And it's not even supposed to be a reality series, the Hollywood Reporter says ... In a glaring example of missing the point, program buyers for British TV networks have voted Baywatch the worst U.S. import ever because of its "mind-numbing predictability: beachgoer is saved from drowning," Broadcast magazine reports.

MUSIC NEWS NOT ABOUT CLAY AIKEN: What would beginner guitar lessons, classic rock radio and any battle of the bands competition be without it not nearly as annoying?: Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple has been voted the best rock 'n' roll riff ever by more than 300 professional and amateur musicians in a poll by Australian Musician magazine ... The reviews ranged from "terrible" to "reduced me to tears" (in a good way), but do they really matter for the 20th anniversary remake of Do They Know It's Christmas? The song, by a mostly new group of Band Aid musicians, was released Monday in Britain, and by midweek it had sold more copies than the rest of the country's top 30 singles combined, London's Sun said. Awaiting U.S. release, the song is available for downloading on the Internet, including at the Band Aid Web site, www.bandaid20.com
