2004 All-Hillsborough County football team

By KEITH NIEBUHR and SCOTT PURKS
Published December 19, 2004

PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Kalvin Bailey, fullback, 5-11, 245, Armwood: An easy choice. The bruising runner, at right gaining yardage against Lake Gibson in the 4A championship game, topped 1,500 yards rushing for the second straight year. In the process, he helped lead the Hawks to back-to-back Class 4A state titles. Bailey is rated by rivals100.com as the nation's top fullback. Miami and Southern California are among the programs after his services.

COACH OF THE YEAR: Sean Callahan, Armwood: In his 15th season, Callahan guided the Hawks to their second straight state championship - he's on the left, celebrating this year's title with three of his star players: from left, quarterback Jameel Williams, fullback Kalvin Bailey, and running back Demetrius McCray. The Hawks went 28-1 the past two seasons, 13-1 this year when their only defeat was a forfeit. Callahan's gutsy call to go for two in Armwood's 36-35 state semifinal win over Miami Washington helped propel his squad to the title.
