Bucs still silent on starting quarterback
By ROGER MILLS
Published January 2, 2005
PHOENIX - The Bucs have not made an official announcement regarding who will start at quarterback in today's game against Arizona.
Despite a Tampa radio report that Chris Simms will start ahead of injured Brian Griese for the season finale, Bucs officials said the team will make the decision before the game. There is strong indication, however, that Simms, who hasn't played since being injured Oct. 10, will be the starter. Simms, in his second season with the Bucs, took virtually all of the snaps during the week of practice leading to the game. Coaches rarely start players who haven't practiced.
